Martin McMillan Memorial Duathlon

This event is under review – updates soon!
This is designed as a fun event for all abilities and is a great start to the season.
Members compete in teams of two with the aim of making the teams as close as possible.  A ‘select team’ of adjudicators will decide who you will be competing with on the day of the race.

The race format is run, run, bike, bike.  The first team member runs (approx. 5k) and then hands over to the second person who completes the run before handing over the first person who then completes the bike before handing back to the second person to complete their bike section.
The run and bike are on varied terrain, some of it slightly rough, so bikes should be mountain bikes (or cross bikes if you want to cheat!!).  Don’t worry if you don’t have a mountain bike, there are normally enough there and teams can ‘share’ bikes.
This is a FUN event which raises money for British Heart Foundation and costs only £5 to enter, which goes to the charity.
Please come along, all abilities welcome and encouraged.
The race starts at 10.00am so be there about 9.30 at least to get ready and get your team sorted.
The race takes place in Shewalton Woods, we meet in the car park.  The car park is on the entry road to the Papermill at Irvine.
The course can change slightly from year to year so its best to go a bit early when people tend to go for a recce and warm-up around the course.
Please note that this race is intended for club members only.  In the past we have allowed friends/family to take part as well but they aren’t eligible for prizes.
